Tesla Delivers New Made in China 3 Models with Help from Local Owners

A group of Tesla owners in China helped the electric car maker deliver some of its Model 3 sedans to new owners.

Members of the Shenzhen chapter of Tesla Greater China Motor Club performed at a local showroom to give new owners a preview of what they might expect from having one of the company’s electric vehicles.

Tesla’s Weibo account stated: “A group of charming figures appeared at the Tesla Delivery Center in Shenzhen-Tesla, car owners who volunteer even in hot weather cannot resist their enthusiasm. Thank you for working with us to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy! ”

Tesla owners in China have volunteered to help the company multiple times in the past. Most recently, the company asked owners in China to help with customer service and sales when the second quarter of 2020 came to an end. The last two weeks of the quarter are generally when the electric car maker makes a concerted effort to increase sales and delivery volume.

Owners near Fremont’s production facilities in Northern California have also helped the company in the past. Many owners showed up at company facilities in late 2019 to help meet the company’s sales and delivery target for the calendar year.

Interestingly, the quarter has just started, so the owner’s presence in the Shenzhen showroom could have been entirely voluntary since Tesla is not pushing to increase delivery numbers before the end of the quarter.

The act of showing up to help new owners get their new electric sedans is a testament to Tesla’s brand loyalty to drivers. Tesla owners seem to have a specific connection to their new vehicles, and use their knowledge and experiences to influence others to join the electrical revolution.

Tesla recently won the JD Power APEAL Award, which is presented to the vehicle brand that provides the deepest emotional connection with owners. Tesla dethroned Porsche, who won the 15th award out of the last 16 years it was awarded.

The company’s reputation for having the strongest emotional connection to its owners is evident through Chinese owners joining their local showroom in an attempt to help new owners understand their Tesla EVs.

Since the start of Model 3 deliveries in China in January, Tesla has greatly expanded its fleet in the country, which has the world’s largest automotive market. In June, the company sold 14,954 units, representing 23% of the total share of electric vehicles in the country during the month.
