Tarek El Moussa en Heather Rae Young are so obviously in love.
The couple recently announced their engagement on Instagram after one year of dating. According to Folk, the big moment happened during her boat trip to Catalina Island in California late last month.
“The future Mrs. Tarek El Moussa !!!!” de Selling Sunset star wrote next to a photo of Tarek sliding an engagement ring on her finger. In response to the photo, the HGTV star commented, “My best friend in the whole world❤️❤️.”
According to Heather’s Instagram, the two first met on Tarek’s yacht called “Bad Decisions” last July – about a year and a half after his divorce from his Flip of Flop co-star, Christina Anstead, was finalized. After TMZ caught Tarek and Heather smooching, a E! Insiders claimed her hangout was “nothing serious.”
That said, the Flip of Flop host told Fox News that he was actually dating Heather before she started dating last summer – but his attempt to date her was initially unsuccessful.
“I asked her back a while back and she had a friend that she could not go out with me,” Tarek explained to the outlet.
Not too long after photos of the two kisses appeared, however, Tarek explained to his Instagram followers that he was happy in a relationship with Heather.
“After more than 3 years on my own I am so THROUGH that this beautiful, loving and talented young lady is my girlfriend!” he took his picture. “I’m going to be honest and say I never thought I would meet anyone special in my life after the last three years … Then … out of the blue @heatherraeyoung ran my life.”
His post remained rave about the broker: “The first time I saw her smile, she ‘did that thing to my stomach’ and I knew right away that I needed her to know her … so I asked her out !! I said yes “.”
Clearly, Heather was equal in her husband at the time. In a joint interview with People TV last August, Heather dived into all the fun they had as a new couple.
“We just want to do normal, fun things together,” Heather explained. “We go to dinner, we watch movies, what else? He came to LA, I go down to see him.”
Not too long after that, things kept moving forward when Tarek Heather gave a Ferrari for her birthday. More importantly, Tarek posted last September about Heather with his daughter, Taylor. Shortly afterwards, a photo of Heather with Taylor and Tarek’s son appeared, Brayden.
Fast forward to today, and the couple could no longer be in love. In June, Tarek sold his old home and the two moved into a new family beach house in Newport Beach, California. It’s a sign that exciting things are on sale for the couple in the months – and years – ahead.
“When selling my old house, I let go of a piece of the past,” Tarek said Folk. ‘It was a very defining moment in my life. But now it’s time to move on to the next chapter. And that’s right here. ”
