Talk point: What are you playing this weekend? (July 25)

Crysis

And we’ve come to the end of another busy week in the video game world: a week filled with analysis of a technical titan from a previous generation, the third anniversary of Splatoon 2, some recently released upcoming titles and gaming chairs with Mario’s face. Now it’s finally time to sit back and talk about our weekend game plans.

Nintendo Life members have done exactly that below, and we’d love for you to join us through our survey and feedback sections. Enjoy!

This weekend I continue my adventure in Paper Mario: The Origami King. I admit that I wasn’t the biggest fan of the new battle system when I started playing it, but it has grown on me ever since. Hopefully this is a Paper Mario game that I can really see all the way through this time.

In addition to the latest Nintendo release, I also plan to spend some time under the title Devolver Digital, Carrion. I don’t handle horror games very well, but reverse horror isn’t an issue. I can’t believe how much fun it is to be the amorphous creature everyone runs away from!

The Eastern package means that I will spend this weekend with imports like Umihara Kawase BaZooKa!, Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia, the elusive retail edition of Sayonara Wild Hearts and the nostalgic Famicom Namcot Collection. But the eStore also had a very strong week, so wait DEX, Carrion, and Panzer Paladin do the rounds too.

The game of the week is Crysis remastered. Not because it is a small miracle to have it working on a tablet with Nvidia Tegra but because of the fact that he had never played any of the entries in the series before. Now excuse me, I have some soldiers to terrorize by throwing this chicken that I just picked up in the school.

I plan to relax and enjoy some laid back games that require minimal effort on my part, at least until Saturday afternoon. This week, I have focused mainly on Paper Mario: The Origami King and Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. Both are easy to get in and out of, but still nice. Paper Mario was especially a pleasant surprise with its beautiful graphics, hilarious writing, and unique battle system. Friends of Mineral Town is quite a nostalgic move for me, as the original Game Boy Advance game was easily one of my favorites while growing up.

And then, with the absence of a true Olympiad to watch, I will join some friends in a Ring Fit Adventure Live broadcast of the Olympics, where I will probably come last in everything and die of exhaustion. But it will be fun anyway (come see if you need any entertainment, I’m sure I’ll do something ridiculous and lose everything for my team).

After splashing around in Konami Castlevania, Against and Arcade Classics Anniversary Collections (hey, they were 75% off!), I’m going to another retro binge this weekend. After playing my Game Boy on vacation, I can’t wait to play Belmont’s Revenge on the switch.

I also got stuck properly on Cuphead for the first time last week, so I’ll keep playing that. I’ve also been unlocking characters in Streets of anger 4 with two players how good penalty fee couple of games, also real viewers. And I am sure that I will fall into the Bug-Off in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, too. I have to get the Nook Miles stamp.

As always, thanks for reading! Be sure to leave a vote on the poll above and a comment below with your gaming options in the coming days …
