Head of security Karin Rykart is one of 342 people from the canton of Zurich who tested positive in the last 24 hours. She was probably infected by her husband.
Karin Rykart (Greens) is currently on vacation. Like home in Zurich. Here, her husband tested positive for the corona virus on Tuesday, so the city councilor went into quarantine and got tested. His test was also positive, as the security department announced Thursday. Rykart is one of 342 people who received a positive Corona result in the last 24 hours in the canton of Zurich.
Rykart currently has no symptoms and will carry out his tasks from home, he said. It calls on the population to strictly adhere to protective measures against the virus. In view of the increasing number of cases, everyone must do their part to prevent infections as much as possible. The security officer will remain in isolation until the end of next week.
Hardly any contact with the outside world
By phone, Rykart says the positive result came “at a good time, so to speak.” Because in the two or three days prior to the test, he had no direct contact with his colleagues from the council or with the employees. Rykart’s life ran in the family, which in turn means that his three teenagers are now in quarantine and separated from their parents. As she has not felt any symptoms so far and her husband has only mild symptoms, the family problems currently are mainly logistical, says the councilor.
According to Rykart, she does not know where her husband was infected. You haven’t had any experience with contact tracing yet because you’re still waiting to see what your doctor will say. The 49-year-old has had the Covid app on her mobile phone since spring. You received your test result on Thursday, so the code to enter the app has not yet been sent to you.
On Tuesday, the colleague from the Rykar municipality, Corine Mauch (SP) and her colleague Andreas Hauri (GLP), called on the population to act with caution and discipline (watch the video here).
