According to various media, the traditional English football club AFC Sunderland is about to be absorbed by the Swiss billionaire Kyril Louis-Dreyfus (22).

With their Louis Dreyfus Company, the family is successful in various industries, including agriculture, metal and energy, shipbuilding, finance and the real estate market; he earned 230 million Swiss francs last year alone. Kyril’s father, Robert, who died in 2009, left him an inheritance worth billions. His mother, the Russian Margarita, is considered one of the most powerful women in the world and currently runs the company.

Kyril, 22, is considered a great soccer fan, although the apple does not fall far from the tree. For example, Father Robert established himself as CEO of Adidas for many years and was also Olympique de Marseille’s largest shareholder since 1996. The club was very successful, celebrating the championship title in 2010. In 2016, seven years after its death, Margarita finally sold the shares.

Now the family seems to want to get back into the sports business. The current owner of Sunderland AFC, Stewart Donald, has been trying to sell the club all year and only wants to keep part of his shares. The public should know in two weeks at the latest if the sale agreement will be finalized. Until then, the English football fan will be fascinated by Zurich.
