Zug hits SCB, Servette convinces in Lugano, and SCL Tigers win!
EV Zug has extended his lead over first rival ZSC Lions to 15 points. Central Switzerland faced SC Bern 7: 1. Servette also celebrated a great victory in Lugano, and the SCL Tigers returned to victory after nine losses in a row.
EV Zug – SC Bern 7: 1
After ailing SC Bern won three games in a row for the first time in the current championship, sovereign leader Zug showed him the limits. Central Switzerland celebrated their sixth consecutive victory with a 7-1 win.
Dario Simion with a durable shot (7th) and Sven Senteler on the power play (8th) gave Zug with two hits in 52 seconds a 2-0 lead. While Berns weren’t necessarily the worst team in the first third, the hosts dominated the beginning of the center section almost at will. Little did the SCB know what was happening to him. The result was mistakes that the EVZ took advantage of. Improving and faster Lino Martschini (29th) and Nick Shore (30th) increased to 4: 0 with another double hit (51 seconds).

The Zugers went down a gear later, but after Dustin Jeffrey (32nd) lost 4-1, Santeri Alatalo restored the four-goal lead after exactly 38 minutes. That was the end of the game. Alatalo was also responsible for the final point with a score of 7: 1 (53rd).
In the first two home games of this season against SCB, which ended 2: 1 and 1: 2 after extra time, EVZ only scored three goals. This time the offense worked like a well-oiled machine. The two teams will meet again in Bern on Friday.
