The Young Boys won the double for the first time since 1958. The Swiss champions win the cup final in Bern against defending champions Basel 2-1.
Substitute Marvin Spielmann scored the winning goal in the 89th minute with a long-range shot that made Basel goalkeeper Djordje Nikolic look bad. Basel took the lead shortly before the break thanks to a header from Omar Alderete, and YB drew level shortly after the break after a wonderful combination from Jean-Pierre Nsame.

However, the Hoarau era, like that of goalkeeper Marco Wölfli, ended with historic success: YB’s first double in 62 years. For Marcel Koller, however, at the end of a turbulent time at the crisis-ravaged FCB, it was a final disappointment.
