Xiaomi has launched a series of new smartphones for the European market. Starting in mid-May, Xiaomi will provide the Mi Note 10 with a Mi Note 10 Lite at prices starting at EUR 349. The Redmi 9 and Redmi 9 Pro are new to the cheaper home brand Redmi, for which market launch and prices will be announced later.

The Mi Note 10 Lite follows the Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro, which Xiaomi presented last year in November at prices starting at 549 euros. However, the initial price of the Lite variant is 349 euros, with more RAM and memory is 399 euros.

Many features of the Mi Note 10 can be found again in the Mi Note 10 Lite, although the starting price is 200 euros lower. These include the 6.47-inch OLED display, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G, and the 5,260 mAh battery.

Camera with 64 instead of 108 megapixels

The differences can be found especially in the camera, where the biggest change is the renunciation of the 108-megapixel sensor developed in conjunction with Samsung. Instead, the main camera is the Sony IMX686 with 64 megapixels. Xiaomi has also removed the optical image stabilizer. The red lens was also a victim of the telephoto lens, instead, there is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and 2-megapixel macro photography lenses and 5-megapixel depth information.

Less memory, but still UFS 2.1

Another change concerns memory settings as less RAM and UFS 2.1 can be selected for Mi Note 10 Lite. 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage are integrated in the base, for 50 euros more there is again 6 GB of RAM, but 128 GB of storage. The Mi Note 10 already comes with 128 GB in the base, the Pro model offers 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The Mi Note 10 Lite will launch in mid-May in Glacier White, Midnight Black and Nebula Purple colors.

Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro come later

The Redmi family has expanded to include Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro. Starting prices are $ 199 and $ 269 respectively, with Xiaomi only announcing prices and availability for Europe at a later date. The Redmi Note 9S already available, which costs 229 euros and offers the only difference, a 48-megapixel camera serves as a guide.

The Redmi Note 9 comes with a 6.53-inch screen, MediaTek Helio G85, 3GB of RAM and 64GB of memory, as well as a quad camera consisting of a main camera, ultra wide-angle, macro camera and depth sensor. The battery measures 5,020 mAh and can be quickly charged with a maximum of 22.5 watts.

Bigger and different SoC display

The 6.67-inch display of the Redmi Note 9 Pro is the same size as the Mi Note 10 Lite, but it is an LC display instead of an AMOLED panel. The processor is a bit weaker with the Snapdragon 720G instead of the 730G, and the battery is a bit smaller at 5,020 mAh, but at 30 watts it can charge as fast as the Mi Note 10 Lite. The main 64-megapixel camera corresponds to the most expensive smartphone, there are also lenses for ultra-wide angles, macro and depth information.

The Redmi Note 9 is planned in Midnight Gray, Forest Green and Polar White, Redmi Note 9 Pro in Interstellar Gray, Tropical Green and Glacier White.
