In late August it was announced that WEF 2021 would be delayed from winter to early summer. There was already talk of a smaller digital edition. Now not only the date but also the location must be changed.

A possible alternative location could be Ticino or Nidwalden. “We are in negotiations with the WEF”, confirms Nidwalden Landammann Othmar Filliger at the request of SRF. “Specifically, the Bürgenstock is the place in the center.” But he could not say more about the ongoing negotiations.
It sounds similar in Ticino. There is talk of Lugano as a possible venue for WEF 2021, according to Ticino Radio RSI. However, the details are not yet known.
At SRF’s request, WEF director Alois Zwinggi reports that no decision has yet been made. Therefore, communication will only take place next week.
Davos hotels informed by letter
