- Dominique Aegerter wins the MotoE race in Misano ahead of Jordi Torres (ESP) and Matteo Ferrari (ITA).
- The Swiss secured victory thanks to two overtaking maneuvers on the last lap of the race.
- Aegerter’s lead in the World Cup standings is now 19 points.
Dominique Aegerter’s career in MotoE continues. The Oberaargauer celebrated its 2nd victory of the season and the 4th podium in the 4th race at Misano, Emilia-Romagna.
For a long time, the Oberaargauer drove in 3rd position before reappearing in the last of 7 laps. He pushed Torres and Ferrari and saved a narrow lead over the finish line. Aegerter had already beaten 2 opponents on the last lap in his third place at Misano a week ago.
World Cup leadership expanded
Thanks to the victory, Aegerter extends its advantage in the World Cup, from 12 to 19 points. The first chaser is the new Spaniard Torres, followed in third place by the Italian Ferrari. The latter crossed the finish line in second place, but fell back one place due to a violation on the last lap (both bikes on the track).
This means that 4 of the 7 races of the season have been completed in the MotoE class. Thanks to the victory, Aegerter will start from position 1 in race 3 at Misano on Sunday.
