In late October there was a physical argument between a woman and an unknown dog owner in Langenthal. The woman was injured. The investigation has not yet led to the identification of the man. Therefore, witnesses are needed.
On Friday, October 30, 2020, the Bern Canton Police received a report shortly after 3.15pm that a woman had been beaten by a man on St. Urbanstrasse in Langenthal. When emergency services, which were immediately deployed, arrived at the scene, the injured woman was already being treated by passers-by. She had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance.
According to statements, both the woman and a man with a large dog were waiting for the bus at the Tell / Kantonalbank stop when a verbal argument broke out.
The man then suddenly attacked the 26-year-old, after which she fell backward on a bench. According to the current state of the investigations, the man with his dog then crossed St. Urbanstrasse and got on the bus line 52 in the direction of Herzogenbuchsee.
The stranger is described as a man between 50 and 55 years old, 170 to 180 centimeters tall, of narrow stature and short gray hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a work jacket with silver reflectors and jeans. The dog is probably a Leonberger with dark brown fur and black fur on the head area.
