Winter again – digitec

The gossip is included: At Digitec Galaxus, customers can now pay for their purchases with Twint again.

March 2020 will go down in the history books: Corona brought us the first confinement, during the night we had to say goodbye to all the operators of bars, restaurants and hairdressing salons and prepare for weeks in our own four walls.

But that’s not all: if you were still in a rush to get the necessary home office equipment, toilet paper or baking pans from digitec or Galaxus, you suddenly had to do without the popular Twint payment method. We did not want to accept a severe adjustment of the conditions by Twint, so Twint turned off the tap. Part of the community supported our position. Others, however, “were not amused” and let us know with clear comments. BallLP wrote: “What a shame! I always used Twint until now. The payment was easy and fast.

Good things take time

It’s been a good eight months. After Corona’s summer in semi-captivity, the signs in terms of a pandemic point to a storm again. The second Corona wave has Europe firmly under control and Christmas celebrations on the family’s lap are being canceled by the dozens. But there is a ray of hope: gossip about the Twint payment option is included. In long negotiations and sweaty discussions, all differences of opinion were discussed and a new contract was drawn up, behind which Digitec Galaxus and Twint can stand behind.

With immediate effect, Twint is back online as a means of payment in our stores. “The fact that we are able to offer Twint again as a means of payment for the upcoming Christmas business is good news for all of you who missed out on this payment option,” says Florian Teuteberg, CEO of Digitec Galaxus. Twin fine, all good.
