Wil constituency returns to inglorious tip – case 1000 in Toggenburg: current crown numbers for the region
During long periods of October, Toggenburg had the highest number of corona cases compared to the population. The situation in Toggenburg is now improving. The situation is different in Wil’s constituency.
Development in the Toggenburg constituency
On Friday morning, the canton of St. Gallen reported for the first time more than 1,000 corona positive tests for the Toggenburg constituency. Of the 1,017 cases so far, 465 were registered in the last 14 days.
In the comparative view of the electoral districts of St. Gallen, extrapolated to 100,000 inhabitants, Toggenburg recorded the majority of cases during long periods of October. But in the first days of November, the situation in the valleys of Thur and Necker improved compared to the other districts. Toggenburg is currently in fifth place.
Development in the constituency of Wil
In Wil’s constituency, the situation seemed to have stabilized somewhat in recent days. But here there are no decreasing numbers as in other districts. As a result, this means that Wil’s constituency now ranks first. The test results recorded up to and including Thursday show that the constituency had already taken the lead on Wednesday.
Of the 1,545 positive tests so far, 854 were recorded in the last 14 days.

As for the numbers: possible late registrations
When viewing this page, the test date is used. A positive test performed on October 30 is counted among the positive cases as of October 30, even if the report was not made until November 2. Because these late registrations are possible for tests performed on previous days, the value of previous days may increase in hindsight. The most recent figures include all cases reported up to and including midnight the previous day. When interpreting, the last day in particular should be treated with caution.
