Cherry blossoms, lots of sun, and sometimes even summer temperatures – the week before Easter offered a nice preview of the approaching summer. But that should end soon: next week, Switzerland will be in for a real shock!
Easter days are kept friendly
On Holy Saturday it will be quite sunny across Switzerland for the first time. However, it does blow a cool bise. In eastern Switzerland, temperatures only reach around 10-11 degrees, in the west 13-14 degrees. Only in Ticino does it get hot again in the summer with 22 to 23 degrees.
The best time is also announced on Easter Sunday, from 14 to 15 degrees, in Valais and Ticino up to 17 degrees. From Easter Monday the weather will be increasingly cloudy towards the afternoon, as “Meteonews” writes.
It got wet in eastern Switzerland on Thursday night. A storm hit the Lake Constance region.
Dangerous frosts for fruit trees.
By Tuesday, it will be wet and cold all over Switzerland. The line of snowfall then sinks into the plains; Frost is likely to be an issue again in the next few days as well, as the weather service continues to write. “It is not yet clear whether the snow can fall,” continued Meteonews. Frost, in particular, is likely to be a problem for flowering fruit trees. (fr)
