These dashcam shots are terrifying – they show a driver (36) racing through the city of St. Gallen in his Opel Astra. Sometimes he drives in the bus lane, and then even in the opposite lane! The video recordings were made on Tuesday night around 10:30 p.m.
It was done by a driver who noticed the uncontrolled driving of the car in front of him. He alerted the St. Gallen City Police and followed the vehicle; he kept the police informed by phone.
The odyssey ended in a collision
First, the driver of the Opel Astra on the A1 heading to St. Gallen attracted negative attention. According to St. Gallen City Police, he then drove wildly into the Schoren-West Tunnel. There he crashed into the wall of a tunnel. On the way, the Opel driver got into the opposite lane; Another car had to brake suddenly.
The journey continued down Rosenbergstrasse to Zürcher Strasse, where his odyssey ended in a car accident. He drove toward a street divider and a pedestrian sign.
