The 37-year-old driver was driving from Villmergen in the direction of Hilfikon shortly after 8:30 p.m. when his car, a Citroën 2CV6 born in ’83, was driving in a straight line around a right-hand bend, according to the Aargau cantonal police. The veteran touched the edge liner, a larger stone, and finally stopped at the edge of the village stream.

Police found the driver slightly injured and very drunk – a breath alcohol test returned a value of more than 2 per thousand. The man was taken to the hospital. He had to surrender his driver’s license.

The responsible prosecutor opened a criminal investigation and ordered a blood and urine sample.
