The current president of the United States, Joe Biden, takes the first steps to the entrance of Air Force One without any problem. The 78-year-old man runs easily towards the plane.
But then it happens: Biden stumbles once, twice, and finally falls completely. Biden immediately gets back up, but then runs his hand over his shin several times. The fall apparently did not pass the president without a trace.
At least Biden made it to the entrance of the plane without help. There he turns around for the last time, salutes again, and finally disappears into the presidential machine.
Biden’s age was already a problem in the election campaign
The misstep happened on Friday (local time) at the Andrews Joint Base airfield a few miles from Washington DC, from where Biden wanted to fly to Atlanta. The president’s communications team was able to give the go-ahead a little later and announced that Biden did not need medical attention. The president simply took a wrong step and then fell.
But as is often the case in such cases: whoever has the damage need not worry about the mockery. Critics and political opponents have already seized Biden’s fall as an opportunity to question his health. Already in the electoral campaign between Donald Trump (74) and Biden, the age and health of the democratic challenger was repeatedly a topic of discussion. Republicans have repeatedly criticized that Biden is too old and therefore not fit enough for the office of US president (cat).
