Around 50 US intelligence officials claim that Russia is behind a campaign against Hunter Biden (50), son of Vice President Joe Biden (77).
On Monday (local time) the “Politico” website published a letter according to which Hunter Biden’s emails had “all the classic characteristics of a Russian information operation.”
“They are trying to protect Biden”
According to the “Tagesanzeiger”, the emails were found in Hunter Biden’s notebook: he took it to a computer store for repair, but never picked it up again. There were several emails on the laptop’s hard drive that were supposed to prove a corruption charge against the Bidens. From the computer store, the emails reached the New York Post through Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani (76).
Among other things, Twitter had stopped the distribution of the link to the New York Post report. Trump said at a campaign appearance in Des Moines, Iowa: “He’s trying to protect Biden.”
Timing and circumstances arouse suspicion
In one of the emails, a senior adviser from Burisma (gas producer in Ukraine) thanks for meeting Joe Biden, organized by Hunter Biden. The latter sat on the Burisma board. However, according to a Biden spokesperson, there is no evidence of such a meeting.
The timing and circumstances of the publication raise suspicions. Like the fact that Giuliani works closely with the pro-Russian Ukrainian Andrii Derkach. The latter even claimed to have a second Biden laptop. US President Donald Trump (74) ignores warnings that Russia and Giuliani are spreading false information.
Experience as “test”
No new evidence appears in the intelligence officials’ report. But their experience in national security makes them deeply suspicious. “If we are correct, Russia is trying to influence the way Americans vote in these elections, and we strongly believe that Americans should be aware of this.”
Rudy Giuliani has already found someone to blame for the doubt: “I think George Soros is behind this counter-offensive, he wants to create a socialist country.” (my I)
