Urs Fischer cannot prepare Union Berlin for the match against Bayern Munich. The Swiss coach left the training camp for private reasons.
1. FC Union Berlin has to do without Urs Fischer in preparation for the Bundesliga restart against Bayern. “The coach had to leave the training camp in the short term for private reasons,” Oliver Ruhnert, CEO of Sports, said in a video conference on Wednesday. It is still unclear whether the Swiss will return to Munich until the home game on Sunday.
The reasons are not related to a crown infection or the quarantine regulations for the start of the Bundesliga, the club explains on its website. Before leaving Barsinghausen, Fischer, like the entire team, had to undergo another test. The results of the fourth series of tests were all negative, explains Union.
Preparation for the game was taken over by the two assistant coaches Markus Hoffmann and Sebastian Bönig and also directed the first internal training game. As Fischer left the training camp at Barsinghausen, Yunus Malli was able to train for the first time on Wednesday. The midfielder had previously been unable to complete a training shift due to positive crown test results and illness caused by the virus.
