The order at Disposal + Recycling Zurich (ERZ) continues: on Saturday, illegally accumulated old vehicles are subjected to hammering.

16 restored vehicles, trailers and small machines will be up for auction, as the city of Zurich announced on Monday (here go to catalog). All vehicles are related to the disposal of waste or the maintenance of streets and green spaces. The objects were presented to the media on Monday. The highlights of the unusual collection are two historic Bern and Saurer dump trucks from 1946 and 1954. Large vehicles also include a 1972 garbage truck and a 1987 sewer cleaner truck.

A number of motorized cars and small vehicles will also be up for auction, including a cylinder mower built in 1965. The collection also includes several trailers, the oldest being a 1907 road mop trailer and a 1904 sprinkler truck. Revenues flow to the municipal tax fund

“Parallel world with its own rules”
The classic car collection was part of a “parallel world with its own rules,” which the ERZ had created according to a 2019 external investigation report.
