Two young men were injured in a fire accident at a barbecue area in Liestal BL on Friday night. They had to be airlifted to a hospital. A 17-year-old boy had poured fuel on the fire.
According to a report by the Basel-Landschaft police, several young people were in the barbecue area in the “Uf Berg” area on Seltisbergerstrasse. After a 17-year-old man poured fuel on the burning wood, police wrote that there was probably an explosive ignition. A young woman and a young man (both 16 years old) suffered burns.
The ambulance took care of the two. They were then taken to a hospital in a rescue helicopter. Seltisbergerstrasse was briefly closed during the rescue work. Traffic was diverted. The police are conducting further investigations together with the children’s lawyer.
