In both Basles, the number of new corona virus infections decreased slightly on Sunday from 230 to 179. In addition, there were two deaths from Covid-19, eight fewer than the day before.
In Basel-Stadt, 80 new corona virus infections were recorded on Sunday compared to 94 on Saturday. According to the statistics on the pandemic on the canton’s website, to date, 7,353 people residing in Basel-Stadt have tested positive for the corona virus. Of these, 6,353 cases are considered recovered.
Of the 875 (-27) currently infected, 155 (+8) were in the hospital on Sunday, 111 (+5) of them residing in the canton of the city. 20 (+1) patients with Covid-19 had to be treated in an intensive care unit. In relation to Covid-19, 125 unchanged people died in Basel-Stadt.
Two deaths in Baselland
In the canton of Baselland, on the other hand, the number of deaths from Covid-19 rose by two to 134 on Sunday. In positive cases there was an increase from 99 (-37) to 9,603. Of these, 7,808 are cured, according to the canton.
Of the 1661 (-81) currently infected, 69 (+7) were in the hospital on Sunday. Five (+1) Covid-19 patients were in an intensive care unit, two had to be ventilated.
