Today “Tatort” is the most popular fiction format on German television, it is considered “the last bonfire” of society and is hotly debated on the Internet every week. In 2019, an average of 9 million viewers followed the cases in the different cities, the market share increased to almost 26 percent (previous year: 24.9 percent). And the new “Tatort” makes it clear once again why.
