First lady Melania Trump canceled her first campaign appearance alongside US President Donald Trump in nearly two months. Melania Trump suffered from a “persistent cough” and would not travel as a precaution, said her spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham. But after recovering from Covid-19, he is doing better every day. Melania Trump was supposed to accompany her husband to his campaign event on Tuesday night (local time) in Erie in the state of Pennsylvania.

Melania Trump made the final campaign for her husband’s reelection with a speech in the Rose Garden of the White House at the Republican Party conference on August 25. Otherwise, it was notably restricted during the election campaign. Other members of the Trump family, however, appear again and again in the election campaign. Republican Trump will face Democratic challenger Joe Biden on November 3. Biden is currently leading the polls.

According to the White House, Melania (50) and Donald Trump (74) tested positive for the corona virus earlier this month. Son Barron, 14, was also infected, but remained symptom-free, according to his mother. Donald Trump was treated in the hospital for three nights. Melania Trump described the course of her illness in a message last week as “a roller coaster of symptoms.”
