Trump vs. Biden: Now a hot and dirty election campaign begins
The elections will take place in the United States in two months. Faced with lousy polls, President Donald Trump fully trusts the “Law and Order” letter. Democrats want to hold back.
After the Democratic and Republican party conventions, the fiery phase of the US election campaign begins. This happens in extraordinary moments. The corona pandemic has the country under control, even if the number of cases has recently declined. This is a challenge for presidential hopefuls.
This is especially true in the case of President Donald Trump. He’s still clearly behind rival Joe Biden in the polls. The first major poll after the two-party congresses on behalf of the ABC television station was particularly sobering for him. A clear majority of those polled negatively rated Trump’s strange crowning mass.

However, the virtual assembly of Democrats received mostly good marks. And while Trump’s approval fell to 31 percent, Biden’s increased to 46 percent. This is notable because the poll was conducted last Friday and Saturday, following the violence in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Conway’s debunking statement
The ABC poll confirms the assumption that opinions in the abysmally divided country are largely fabricated and that the number of undecided is small. Therefore, Trump will fully rely on the “Law & Order” card. He helped Republicans Richard Nixon in 1968 and George HW Bush in 1988 to victory.
The recent acts of violence in Kenosha and over the weekend in Portland are good food for the president. With the warning of chaos and anarchy, he wants to lure suburban white voters, especially women, to his side, who are actually fed up with his lies and failure in the crown crisis.
Kellyanne Conway said it openly when she was leaving as a presidential adviser in an interview with Fox News: “The more chaos, anarchy, vandalism and violence, the better for the clear choice of who is suitable for public safety and law and order.” In plain language: Republicans want the country to burn for Donald Trump to be re-elected.

This cynical calculation shows the few options left to the president. Because so far he and his team have failed to denigrate Joe Biden as a “scandal noodle.” Dirt thrown at it doesn’t stick. Then they attack him as a disguised anarchist and the “Trojan horse” of the radical left.
A different country from 1968 or 1988
It is doubtful that this calculation will work, and that is not only due to the moderate image of the former vice president. The United States is a different country than 1968 or 1988. Various polls show that Americans clearly reject rioting and looting. The same applies to excessive police violence as in Kenosha.
Still, some Democrats are nervous. They want Biden Keller to leave her home where she “hid” from the coronavirus. The candidate is obviously ready for it. On Monday he delivered a speech in Pittsburgh at Swing State Pennsylvania in which he raised the question of whether the people of Trump’s America were safe.
Crown as a “stroke of luck” for Biden
More appearances will follow in September, in which Biden wants to promote his plans for the economy, among other things, an area where Trump tends to do (even) better in the polls. For the 77-year-old, the Corona mode election campaign is something of a fluke in tragedy. Thanks to the significantly lower rate, you can save energy.

His sometimes erratic and confusing appearances earlier in the year were not an expression of his supposed senility, but a consequence of the stressful election campaign. When this closed significantly in March, Biden quickly showed his best performance in the latest television matchup between the Democrats and Bernie Sanders.
Trump demands drug tests
This is also an indicator regarding television debates with Donald Trump. The first will take place on September 29. Some observers fear that Biden will “sink” against the president. But it is Trump who is nervous. Last week he asked for a drug test before the debates because Biden was so much better than before against Sanders.
According to the Washington Post, the election campaign will focus on six states that Trump won in 2016: Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Democrats also see Georgia and Texas, as well as Iowa and Ohio, as potential “prey”, while Republicans hope Minnesota and New Hampshire.
Democrats want to fight
The exchange of blows is likely to be fierce and dirty, perhaps more than ever in the country’s history. And in the end, Donald Trump may have only one bad option: He could try to manipulate the outcome with all sorts of tricks to his advantage. Democrats, however, do not want to accept this without a fight.
Joe Biden’s campaign team has built an “army” of lawyers and volunteers. They should take action against possible Republican machinations and stop them. This refers, for example, to the restriction of voting by mail or attempts to close polling stations in the strongholds of the Democrats under the pretext of fighting the crown.
This is where Democrats got help from basketball professionals. In exchange for ending their playoff strike after the Jacob Blake shooting in Kenosha, they were able to get the owners of NBA teams to promise to use their sprawling stadiums as polling stations in November. This also shows that America 2020 is not like 1968.
