Trump lashed out at Fauci: “He’s an idiot!” – Why are you doing that?

Attacking Fauci is believed to be political suicide. So why is the president doing this to himself?
Maybe it’s just vanity. The morbid narcissist Trump does not tolerate gods next to him, and Fauci stands in front of the sun for him. A recent poll by the neutral Kaiser Family Foundation showed that 68 percent of Americans trust Fauci. Trump, on the other hand, only reaches 40 percent.
Fauci is also increasingly opposed to Trump’s coronation policy. For example, he criticized the president’s behavior at Federal Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s presentation on the White House lawn. In an interview with the television show “60 Minutes”, he said:
“When I saw him in a completely precarious situation, among a crowd of people, without distance and with hardly any masks, I was worried that he would get sick. When I saw these scenes on TV, I said to myself, ‘Oh my God. Nothing good can come of it. That will be a problem. ›Behold, the occasion became a super broadcast event».

However, the president is still doing his best to disparage the corona virus. Now he wants to appear in front of his followers, mostly unmasked, up to four times a day. He complains that everyone is only talking about the pandemic. So he recently complained at a rally in Arizona:
“All that (CNN shows) bring is Covid, Covid, Pandemic, Covid, Covid, Covid … They want to discourage people from voting. But people are not buying it, CNN, you idiots. “
The attacks have an ideological aspect. Trump claims that Fauci is wrong as a scientist. “If he had listened to the science,” Trump said, “now we would have a deep depression.”
Instead of serious science, Trump relies on charlatans. His main advisor is one Scott Atlas. He works at Stanford University, but not as an epidemiologist, but as a radiologist.

Trump saw Atlas on Fox News. It’s not by chance. Atlas believes that masks are unnecessary and advises against testing in people who show no symptoms. Instead, Atlas relies on advice that about 80 scientists have published in a statement, the “Great Barrington Declaration.”
These scientists are asking de facto herd immunity. In concrete terms, this means: The virus must spread as quickly and freely as possible among the majority of the population in order for the herd to become immune. Only the elderly and especially vulnerable should be protected.
The concept of herd immunity is rejected by the vast majority of scientists. For one simple reason: it would take too many kills. In the US alone, it would be millions of people.
It is no coincidence that the concept of herd immunity is reminiscent of Social Darwinism, the idea that only the fittest should survive. Behind the “Great Barrington Declaration” is the American Institute for Economic Research, a far-right think tank. And who finances this group of experts? One suspects it: the Charles Koch Institute, the mother of all libertarian ideologues.
Meanwhile, Scott Atlas has put serious scientists like Fauci and his colleague Deborah Birx (the one with a lot of scarves) on the back burner at the White House Crown Task Force. Herd immunity has not become an official policy, but it is being pushed forward. Although crown cases are skyrocketing again in almost every state in the US, Trump is pushing for the economy to open up immediately and wants to send every child to school.
This goes well with your base, not so much with everyone else. Mainly the elderly and suburban mothers are offended by Trump with this policy. The president goes so far as to accuse Fauci of being in cahoots with his rival. “He wants to hear from Fauci,” Trump scoffed.
