A motorcyclist collided head-on with a car in Giarsun on Friday. He died from his serious injuries at the scene of the accident.
The 57-year-old Austrian motorcyclist drove down the Engadinerstrasse from Ardez towards Giarsun on Friday morning shortly after 9 a.m.
At the Magnacun site, according to initial findings, he pulled into the opposite lane at a right turn. He collided head-on with a 24-year-old car approaching from the opposite direction.
The seriously injured motorcyclist was revived by the cantonal police. A team of ambulances from Scuol Hospital and a team from Rega carried out further emergency medical measures on the injured.
The motorcyclist died at the scene due to his serious injuries. The crash site was not passable for more than two hours.
Together with the prosecution service, the Cantonal Police of Grisons has launched investigations into the exact course of the accident.
