On Friday, October 16, 2020, shortly before 10.30 a.m., a fire broke out in an apartment in Reinach BL, as a result of which a person could die. There was significant property damage in the apartment. The residents of the house had to be evacuated. No other people were injured.
At 10:26 am, the Basel-Landschaft police operations control center received a report that a fire had broken out in an apartment in the “Im Reinacherhof” development in Reinach BL. The fire department, alerted immediately, found an attic apartment in the middle of the fire.
Despite the quick intervention of the rescue services involved, one person died at the scene. Due to the current state of the investigation, no further information on the death can be provided.
Firefighters, police, medical services, a rescue helicopter and the prosecutor’s office in Basel-Landschaft were in action. Specialists from the Basel-Landschaft police and the Basel-Landschaft prosecution have launched the investigation.
