Yesterday there was a collision between a motorcycle and a truck in Neuendorf. The motorcycle driver suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene of the accident. An investigation was immediately launched to clarify the cause of the accident.
According to initial findings, on Friday, November 13, 2020, shortly before 3:45 pm, a truck driver from Neuendorf intended to turn left from Dorfstrasse towards Fridaustrasse in the direction of Egerkingen.
At the same time, a motorcyclist was traveling in the opposite direction. A collision occurred in the area of the crossing for reasons that have yet to be clarified. The motorcyclist was seriously injured.
Despite immediate medical attention from an ambulance team and AAA’s additional Alpine Air Ambulance, the man succumbed to injuries shortly after the accident. The truck driver was unhurt.
During the accident registration, all access roads to the accident site had to be closed for several hours. The Neuendorf and Härkingen fire departments established the detours.
The Solothurn Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Solothurn Canton Police immediately launched an investigation.
