Sony has received four awards at this year’s TIPA Awards. The award went to three cameras from the Japanese manufacturer and a technology, according to a statement. The prizes are awarded annually by the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA), an industrial association of photographic magazines.

The Sony Alpha 7R IV was awarded in the Best Professional Full-Frame Camera category. With the 61.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, the medium-format camera stands out from the competition. In addition, there is the multifunctional pixel shift function with which multiple images can be combined to form a high-resolution image and a real-time AF tracking system, as dictated by TIPA.

The Sony RX100 VII is an alternative for your pocket. The camera won in the category “Best Expert Compact Camera”. TIPA mentions the numerous imaging functions that come close to professional cameras. The RX100 VII can shoot up to 20 frames per second in continuous shooting. Slow motion videos even up to 1000 frames per second. The Exmor RS CMOS sensor and DRAM memory enabled this performance, the message says.

Sony received the fourth award for its real-time tracking technology. The system tracks precisely focused objects and auto focus automatically searches for the eyes of people and animals. The AI-based system also adjusts autofocus to variables such as brightness and distance to maintain sharpness. Technology takes autofocus to a new level, as TIPA concludes.
