In a Swiss Facebook group, violence is repeatedly called for, including the murder of a federal adviser. Until a few days ago, SVP National Councilor Andreas Glarner was the group’s administrator. Glarner says he didn’t know anything about it.

It was a good four hours to midnight when Federal President Simonetta Sommaruga (SP) tweeted on New Year’s Eve. He would like to thank his colleague Guy Parmelin (SVP) for his support in 2020, he wrote, and wishes him “great strength and good health” for his year as president.
Three days Later, Sommaruga’s tweet appeared on the Facebook group “Switzerland awake !!”. in – and the group woke up.
