Two students from England, Rachel Kennedy (19) and Liam McCrohan (21) missed the £ 182 million EuroMillions win last Friday. The two had bet on the same numbers for five weeks, namely 6, 12, 22, 29, 33, 6 and 11. And on Friday their lucky numbers were drawn.
On the Euromillions app, Rachel got the incredible news: her numbers were a direct hit! “I was impressed when I thought I had won,” the 19-year-old tells “The Sun”. His friend Liam has already imagined what he will do with the money he has earned: “She was very calm, but I had already spent it all on my head,” he says.
“My heart was broken”
But then bitter disappointment followed. When Rachel wanted to check the winnings and called the bookmaker, the dream of a dream house, a new car, and a million dollar profit exploded. Because not enough money was credited to your game account, the lottery ticket was invalid. “My heart broke when the man on the phone told me that the lottery ticket payment had not gone through.”
The student now believes that numbers bring her more unhappiness than happiness. The two will continue to play anyway, but from now on with different numbers. Liam also shared his disappointment at the missed millionth opportunity on Twitter.
Meanwhile, the profit went to a lucky man from Switzerland, who almost had to share his 228 million francs. Won the largest jackpot in EuroMillions history.
