Dominique Aegerter finished third in the third race of the Moto E World Cup in Misano.
After his third place at the season opener on July 19 and victory a week later (both races at Jerez), Dominique Aegerter also took the podium in the third race of the season in the Moto E category after a long break. Thanks to its 3rd place at the San Marino GP in Misano, the Rohrbacher extended its lead in the World Cup qualification.
Aegerter only got the podium in the last 7 laps of the race when he beat Jordi Torres and Mattia Casadei, who started from pole. Before that, he was in fifth position for a long time, from where he had started.
Aegerter expands its World Cup leadership
The winner of the race was Italian Matto Ferrari, who now ranks second in the World Cup. Meanwhile, Aegerter’s advantage in the World Cup has increased by one point. He is now 12 points ahead of Ferrari with 57 points. Spaniard Jordi Torres, Aegerters’ first pursuer before Misano’s race, is now third in the World Cup.
At the San Marino GP, 7 laps were done for the first time thanks to better batteries, before 6 laps were the rule.
So it goes
This means that 3 of the 7 races have been completed in the Moto E class. The electric bikes will return to Misano next weekend. Then there are two races on the show.
