Maha Züger worked as a cantonal doctor with a workload of 30 percent. During the crown crisis, however, he had to work much more, which is why many overtime hours have been accumulated in a short time. He is currently compensating for this, according to “Radio Munot”.
Maha Züger did not want to disappoint the people of Schaffhausen, she told the “Schaffhauser Nachrichten”. She was also ready to increase her workload to 60 to 70 percent. However, it was terminated because the canton wanted to reorganize the cantonal medical service. It should be merged, at least partially, with the canton of Thurgau or the canton of Zurich. However, this did not materialize.
The position is now to be filled. The 30 percent position should be converted to a full-time position. The search for a successor solution continues.
The canton is working on an interim solution to close the gap. A new doctor, as well as the health department and the Zügers deputy are currently on duty.
Matthias Freivogel from SP Schaffhausen told RADIO TOP that he was not surprised that the cantonal doctor had worked so many overtime: “We have experienced an event of the century. Exceptional situations require exceptional action and Ms Züger has done it. “
Peter Scheck of SVP sees it differently. The 600 overtime hours are by no means: “It is questionable where this large amount of overtime comes from. The canton of Schaffhausen was not seriously affected.
The fact that the canton no longer has a cantonal doctor raises many questions for Matthias Freivogel: “I only know that she has resigned and that there appears to be a successor already.”
The successor should no longer be 30 percent employed, but 100 percent employed. A step that does not suit Peter Scheck: “Of course you have to reorganize in such a case. But now everything is turned upside down is completely wrong. “
