Landscape gardening instead of luxury hotel: US President Donald Trump (74) has caused mockery and laughter by mistaking a place for a press conference. Trump announced Saturday (local time) on Twitter that his lawyer Rudy Giuliani (76) would be holding an important press conference at the “Four Seasons” in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but then deleted the tweet and wrote instead: “Great conference press release today at the Four Seasons landscaping – 11.30am, ”as reported by the Washington Post.
A reaction from the luxury hotel “Four Seasons” added to the embarrassment: “To be clear, President Trump’s press conference will NOT take place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia. It takes place in the Four Seasons landscaping, with no connection to the hotel. “
Trump press conference between dildo shop and crematorium
The location in an industrial zone in Northeast Philadelphia made matters worse. “I could write jokes for 800 years and think of nothing more amusing than Trump booked the Four Seasons for his press conference and then it turned out to be in a Four Seasons gardens parking lot between a dildo shop and a crematorium.” wrote a user on Twitter.
Comedian Patton Oswalt tweeted: “Let the history books record it: The dildo shop next to Trump’s press conference had better Covid precautionary measures than the White House.”
The reason for the change of venue is unclear
It is unknown why the press conference took place in a parking lot in front of a daycare center, of all the venues, and why Trump mixed the venues. Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski tried to break a Twitter spear for the president: “All great Americans in PA (Pennsylvania) use Four Seasons Total Landscpaping. They love this country and are American patriots. Thank you!”
The press conference was announced about an hour before the announcement of Joe Biden’s election victory by major broadcasters, US media reported. Trump played golf on Saturday.
His lawyer Giuliani told the press conference that the elections are far from over and that the president has not yet given up the race. Without presenting any evidence, Giuliani claimed that hundreds of thousands of ballots were questionable. The television channels did not decide on the outcome of the elections, the lawyer quoted the “USA Today” newspaper as saying.
The AP news agency and major television stations declared Democratic challenger Joe Biden the winner of the presidential election on Saturday. Consequently, Biden was able to rally more than the 270 necessary voters behind him. (SDA / rad)
