«
I only met Doris in April, on her birthday. A few days ago his sister called me and said that he was not well. It was a huge shock. Since then, I have not slept a minute and I have only thought about her. This is a great turning point in my life. »

Pioneer of Figini and Gut-Behrami

De Agostini was one of the few Ticino figures in ski racing. She was Ticino’s first internationally successful ski racer, and with her successes and later as an ambassador for her canton, she paved the way for future top skiers Michela Figini and Lara Gut-Behrami. Thanks to her, the Airolo ski area, where Figini and Gut-Behrami also started, gained more attention.

«
It’s amazing: the three of us grew up in the small Airolo ski area. This makes the community of 1,550 souls the most successful ski region in Switzerland in terms of population. »

She, who learned about the sport through Ticino pioneer Roberto Pilotti, stayed true to the mountain even after the end of her career. Living in Minusio on Lake Maggiore, De Agostini and her husband, former ice hockey player Luca Rosetti (Ambri, Kloten, ZSC Lions), had a home in Airolo. The couple had two adult children.
