The carnival parade in the district of Lucerne Littau it will not take place in 2021. René Baumann, media spokesman for the Littauer Mättli guild, announced it on request. The carnival in the popular “Gruebe-Meile” after the Littau parade will also not take place.

In order to be able to hold some of the other carnival events in the Littau and Reussbühl districts (children’s carnival, guild dance, Ruopigen-Guggete, visits to institutions) on a smaller scale, the Mättli guild wants to form a working group and start plan, as Baumann reports. “Of course, this fully takes into account the specified crown protection measures and the protection concepts of the federal government, canton and city.”

“Definitely”, however, the Littauer Mättli-Zunft will produce its traditional carnival newspaper “Schlössligeischt”. There will be no separate carnival badge produced in 2021.

On Wednesday, the Lozärner Carnival Committee (LFK) decided not to hold the two major carnival parades in the city of Lucerne in 2021. This decision should have a signal effect throughout the region.

All Ämmer Fasncht events are canceled

Also in Emmen The Emmer Carnival Committee (EFK), as the organizer of the Ämmer Carnival, canceled its events. “With around 23,000 visitors, the SFAO feels obliged to assume its responsibility to protect all the carnival people in Emmen and the people of Emmen, and thus cancel all upcoming events,” the committee announced.
