The new Apple MacBook Pro comes with Magic Keyboard and dual memory
Apple loses an update to its MacBook Pro series: The new 13-inch notebooks come with more performance and more memory. But the focus is on a completely different feature.
After the 16-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, Apple’s smaller notebooks now also receive a 2019 Magic Keyboard. The new keyboard replaces the Butterfly Keyboards built into previous models, which had caused frustration for many users. .
Thanks to the special mechanism, the butterfly keyboards were particularly slim and space-saving, but also prone to damage from dirt and dust. Apple had to (and probably will continue to replace) countless keyboards as part of a free swap program.
On Tuesday, the group announced the new edition of the “small” 13-inch MacBook Pro. A scissor mechanism under the Magic Keyboard keys should eliminate technical issues and ensure a better typing experience. This was previously tested on the more expensive 16-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

In addition to the retreaded keyboard, Apple has given its small MacBook Pro a larger SSD memory. The base model comes with 8GB of RAM and 256 gigabytes of SSD storage. The new Macbook Pro is now available in Switzerland at a price starting at CHF 1499. If you want 32 GB of RAM and four terabytes (TB) of storage space, you pay almost 4,000 francs. Until now, only Apple laptops with a maximum of 1TB were available in the size class.
The processor is also being replaced by a newer series, at least on the more expensive models. Apple relies on tenth-generation Intel core chips. Entry-level models have an eighth-generation Intel chip with a base clock frequency of 1.4 gigahertz (GHz). The main difference is that a 6K screen can be connected to the most expensive devices. The cheaper MacBook Pro models are not compatible with this.
