Well-intentioned, but badly done: the local council of Untersiggenthal AG met for an office meeting last week and kept the required crown intervals. Solo: The meeting was followed by a joint dinner at the restaurant. And some of the municipalities arrived together by car. Social distancing is definitely different!
And it was stupid: of all people, the skeptical mask and SVP Mayor Marlène Koller (67) was already suffering from Corona at this point. That is why the entire city council is now in quarantine until October 23. It consists of five people, including Koller and other age-related risk patients.
“I have a bad conscience”
Koller mourns the “Aargauer Zeitung” tonight. Of course I have a guilty conscience. I am concerned that I have infected my fellow councilors, ”he says. In hindsight, it was a mistake for them to eat together after the meeting.
Before learning about her own corona infection, she was an advocate for physical reunion with her fellow counselors. During the closing in spring, the Untersiggenthal City Council met online. But: “Seeing yourself on the computer is just not the same. They don’t feel like they’re sitting across from each other, ”he says.
“I still don’t believe in a mask requirement”
Koller, who, according to his own statements, currently suffers from a nasty cough, has a fever and headache and feels “flabby,” is still working with his party against the mask requirement. SVP Aargau is currently campaigning for the abolition of all crown measures.
“Even though I have a Corona, I still don’t believe in the requirement to wear a mask,” says Koller. “There is no evidence that masks actually protect against infection. I had to experience it myself, ”he told the Aargauer Zeitung. She suspects that he probably got infected during a boat trip on the Rhine; there was a strict mask requirement. (fr)
