The shops at the train station will remain open during this time. Travelers are asked to take advantage of the following alternative offers:

  • Ebikon, Sursee, Emmenbrücke, Littau, Luzern Verkehrshaus or Luzern Allmend / Messe train stations should be used to travel to and from Lucerne.
  • From Ebikon, Emmenbrücke, Littau and Lucerne Allmend / Messe train stations, there are replacement buses that go directly to the “Luzern, Inseliquai” station.
  • Bus routes 6, 8 and 24 are still available between “Luzern, Bahnhof” and “Luzern, Verkehrshaus”

Due to the unique total lock, the work can also be done in other places. The Kreuzstutz and Seehof (Rotsee) underpasses are undergoing renovation and preliminary work is underway on the Fluhmühle overpass. Therefore, the Kreuzstutz underpass will be closed from 26 October. The road in the Kreuzstutz bridge area is no longer passable from the evening of November 6 until the morning of November 9 and the following weekend.

Furthermore, the Rotseeweg in the Seehof bridge area is closed from Thursday, November 5, evening until Monday, November 9, 2020, evening. However, access to the ferry is possible from Lucerne on both sides of the lake.

Work has been on the traction power system at Lucerne train station since May 2020. Due to the two-day total closure, according to SBB, 40 individual night jobs can be dispensed with and various construction jobs can be grouped together .
