Construction works on the new Untervaz – Zizers junction are in the final phase. At the end of September the new cross link was opened to traffic and the dismantling of the old bridge began. In a first part on the tracks of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) and Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). For the last stage of the bridge demolition, the highway must be closed in both directions for safety reasons, as the Federal Highway Office FEDRO writes in a message.
The total closure begins on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. and lasts until Sunday, November 8 at 8:00 a.m. Due to preparatory measures, there may be traffic obstructions starting at 4.30 p.m.
Turnouts in both directions
Traffic in the south lane heading Chur is said to be diverted via the Landquart exit via Kantonsstrasse via the new entrance ramp of the Zizers cross connection. The diversion of traffic in the north lane towards Zurich is via the Zizers exit via Kantonsstrasse to the Landquart entrance.
Upon completion of the dismantling work, the new exit ramp in the direction of Landquart will be completed. The entire construction period will last until the fall of 2021. The costs of this federal construction project amount to about 34 million francs and are within the scope of the cost estimate. (so)
