The Ukrainian team, quarantined on Tuesday, returned home on Wednesday. In Kiev, all members of the delegation tested negative for the coronavirus.
After the Ukrainian national team had repeated positive corona tests, the Lucerne canton doctor ordered the entire delegation to quarantine on Tuesday. Therefore, the last match of the Nations League group stage against Switzerland was canceled, despite the Ukrainians meeting UEFA’s requirements and having 13 healthy players available.
The canton’s doctor’s decision was based on the fact that nine members of the delegation had been infected with the virus in the previous days. UEFA now decides how the match in which the relegation of League A should have been played will be classified. While the Swiss national team expects a forfait victory and remains in the first division of the Nations League, the Ukrainians await a rescheduling of game.

These hopes received a new boost today. After returning home, all players and staff members of the Ukraine national team are said to have undergone another screening. According to the Ukrainian newspaper “Segodnya”, these tests came back negative on Thursday.
