For restaurant, bar and nightclub operators, the Federal Council has yet to announce a fixed date for the closing exit last week. This caused some harsh criticism.
The Economic Affairs Council (WAK) now wants to smooth the waves a bit. Operators of companies that must remain closed beyond April 27 must receive a maximum three-month rental exemption on the Covid 19 loan they received. The Commission resolved this request by 9 votes to 4, Parliament services said on Tuesday.
Bankruptcies must be avoided
Most of the Commission believes that rents are a significant burden for companies that have difficulty finding solutions with the landlord. Therefore, it is important that they can count on the support of the state. It’s about avoiding bankruptcies or rushing business tasks. The measure should only be used in cases of difficulties.
In the opinion of a minority on the committee, a solution must be found in which the owner also makes a contribution. (SDA / dba)
