An excited mood on Tuesday lunchtime at the Bundesplatz: Line 10 bus cannot continue because climate activists are blocking the way. Andreas Glarner (57), who has just left Parliament, is pissed off. The SVP National Council fights in the street with a stranger in a yellow vest who is one of the environmental activists.
Then it gets really heated: Green National Councilor Sibel Arslan (40) joins them, wants to mediate. Video recordings from “CH Media” show how the two politicians suddenly threaten each other with lawsuits. Arslan appears to be annoyed that Glarner photographed the environmental activist with whom she had an argument. The SVP argued that it was taking photos in order to press charges, “if no one else does that.”
Glarner to Arslan: “That never happened in his state!”
The line 10 bus moved a long time ago when Andreas Glarner broke down. Turning to Sibel Arslan and clearly audible, he says, “That’s law and order, Mrs. Arschlan! There was no such thing in her state! “
Sibel Arslan is speechless at first, but then reacts immediately: “Take that back now. What state do you mean? I’m Swiss. “Glarner sticks to it, repeats:” There was nothing in your state? “Arslan:” Come on, that’s not the best way.
The SVP National Council has to receive a lot of criticism for its statements on Twitter. The fact is, Sibel Arslan is a popularly elected member of the same state as Glarner. (nim)
