Federer confirmed in tennis council

Roger Federer was re-elected to the ATP Players Council as were Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray, among others. The president will be elected at the first meeting next year. Until last summer, Novak Djokovic chaired the twelve-member player council. The Serb left the board during the US Open to found himself an independent ATP gaming association (PTPA). In the new organization, Djokovic wants to work more effectively for the interests of the players. He received the support of the Americans John Isner, Sam Querrey and Vasek Pospisil, among others. Meanwhile, Federer and Nadal had called for unity within the existing authorities.

Tournament in Indian Wells not in March

The Masters 1000 tournament in California has been postponed indefinitely due to the corona virus. Actually, the execution was scheduled for March. “Due to the effects of Covid-19, the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells will not take place on the usual dates in March,” ATP said in a statement. The tournament may be rescheduled later in the year.
