Hanfmann celebrates victory in the “wild tournament”
Yannick Hanfmann (ATP 143), a finalist at Gstaad three years ago, is the first winner since the tennis tour was abandoned due to the coronavirus crisis. The 28-year-old German defeated compatriot Johannes Härteis 4-0, 4-1 at the tournament in Höhr-Grenzhausen. Hanfmann also won the main match against Dustin Brown. The games will air on various live streams. In addition to the players, there is only one referee on the court, there are no players or linesmen. Organizers want to enable contests for professionals. Several “wild tournaments” are currently planned.
