UPC ends temporary promotional confusion. Ten new mobile subscriptions completely replace previous offerings. They replace the previous four subscriptions “Flex Swiss”, “Flex Europe”, “Unlimited Swiss” and “Unlimited Europe”.
In its announcement, the telecommunications provider promises consumers “great added value at a low price and in the long term.” There is something for everyone. Is it really the case?
First of all: as before, all mobile phone subscriptions also include unlimited calls and SMS in the Switzerland. There are differences in the volume of data. Attention: It is important to note that MMS are not included in the flat rate. These cost an additional CHF.
The comparison service Moneyland.ch has identified the following price variants:
– Subscriptions for CHF 9.90 (Infrequent Users / Children): UPC Internet customers receive 1GB of data volume with the “Swiss 1GB” mobile phone subscription, while UPC customers who do not use the Internet receive the “Swiss 500 mobile phone subscription MB “with 500 MB.
– Subscriptions for 19.90 francs: The mobile phone subscription “Swiss 4 GB” with a data volume of 4 GB for UPC Internet customers, while customers who do not use the Internet receive the subscription “Swiss 2 GB” with a data volume of 2 GB .
– Subscriptions for CHF 29.90 (frequent users): Unlimited data volume. UPC customers without an Internet connection receive the “Swiss 40 GB” subscription with 40 GB data volume.
– Subscriptions for CHF 39.90: Customers with an Internet subscription receive the mobile phone subscription “Europe Unlimited” or “Europa” (for customers without an Internet subscription). There is a flat rate or 40 GB of internet use within Switzerland. There is also 10 GB of data roaming in Europe and unlimited roaming calls in Europe.
– Subscriptions for CHF 59.90: The “Europe Plus Unlimited” subscription offers unlimited browsing in Switzerland, 10 GB of data roaming in Europe, unlimited roaming calls and calls from Switzerland to other countries.
“If the volume of data contained in the mobile phone subscription is exhausted, Internet access is reduced to a speed of 128 Kbit / s for the rest of the calendar month,” explains Moneyland.
Comparison Service Conclusion: “The subscription for 9.90 francs is a bargain for infrequent users. No other provider in Switzerland offers such a cheap flat rate for calls to all Swiss networks. “
New subscriptions are among the cheapest
Compared to the competition, the new UPC deals were generally among the cheapest deals. “However, depending on usage behavior, there are competitive offers that are even cheaper,” says Moneyland expert Ralf Beyeler.
The fact that UPC no longer offers subscriptions without a minimum contract period is not very customer friendly. “Clients have to opt for a 12 or 24 month contract and they cannot change during this time.”
The comparison service Dschungelkompass also considers new UPC subscriptions to be “quite cheap” compared to other providers.
