The 15-year-old who died Monday in an apartment in Theodor Herzl-Strasse may have had a cocktail of drugs before his death. On Monday around 5 pm, the Basel-Stadt canton police were alerted because a young man had been found dead in the apartment in question. The 15-year-old probably took an unknown substance.
Two adult friends of the deceased told “Blick” yesterday that the young man had previously attended a birthday party at a shisha bar on Sunday. Then he came back with a cup of drink. It was a mixture of Xanax, LSD, cough syrup and methadone, the young people told “Blick.”
15-year-old colleague was arrested
They then spent the rest of the night in the apartment. When the 15-year-old suddenly felt bad, they offered him help, but he refused. He fell asleep around 4:30 am He was also heard snoring. Then the others also went to bed. When colleagues tried to wake him up, he appeared to have breathing problems. “I went to him, I took his pulse, everything seemed to be fine. I went back to sleep. When I woke up at 4:30 PM, I could no longer feel his pulse. His skin was cold. His hands were clenched, ”said one of the friends.
Then the youths alerted the rescuers. Why there was a delay of about an hour is the subject of the investigation.
The influence of third parties is not assumed
The cause of death has not yet been clarified and is being clarified by the Institute of Legal Medicine and the Prosecutor’s Office. Several adults and youth were and are currently being interviewed. Police arrested a 15-year-old boy. It is suspected that he did not provide assistance. Proceedings were initiated against three adults on suspicion of failing to provide emergency assistance.
