Happy ending in Italy: After Sylvie Meis (42) had to postpone her planned spring wedding due to Corona, it was finally possible to celebrate in a dreamlike setting.
The Dutch presenter and her lover, German artist Niclas Castello (42), said yes over the weekend in Tuscany. At the magnificent Villa Cora luxury residence, a five-star hotel just two kilometers from the center of Florence, the bride made her wedding vows in front of 70 guests. On her special day, Sylvie wore an off-the-shoulder white dreamy dress with a long train from her favorite designer Galia Lahav (63), the groom appeared in a classic dark tuxedo with a bow tie.
Shrimp, strawberry and raspberry tart
Meis was brought to the altar by her son Damien (14). The wedding took place quite romantically under an arch of flowers. According to “Bild”, after the ceremony there was a five-course menu with shrimp, fish, Tuscan panzanella salad and strawberry soup. To top it off, a multi-tiered raspberry wedding cake was served before the couple performed their first dance to Etta James’s (1938-2012) Meis song “At Last” on the floor.
Among the prominent guests who accepted the invitation to Italy were top model and presenter Barbara Meier (34) – who, in addition to her husband Klemens Hallmann (44), also brought her three-month-old daughter Marie-Therese with her – and German-American actor Ralf Moeller (61), who enthusiastically reported on the “magnificent wedding” on his Instagram account.
Each guest received a personalized protective mask
Despite all the romance, protective measures related to the pandemic were not forgotten during the noble celebrations. All the wedding guests are said to have received custom protective masks.
It’s already Sylvie Meis’ second marriage. From 2005 to 2013 she was married to former Dutch footballer Rafael van der Vaart (37), with whom she has a son Damian.
