This is how the (false) report about the “dead vaccine” spread
This week, multiple outlets reported that a 91-year-old man died five days after a corona vaccination. The news spread like wildfire and fueled fears.
Only later did it become clear that his death had nothing to do with the vaccination. How was this news spread in the first place? It is worth taking a look at the origin of the message.
This is how information is spread
As the Tagesanzeiger reports, information about the death first appeared Tuesday on the social media channels of well-known critics of the vaccination and skeptics of the crown.. For example on the Twitter channel of this Bernese psychiatrist:
The 91-year-old man had only been dead for a few hours at the time, the Tagesanzeiger reported.
Finally, on Wednesday morning the first detailed report appeared in the online medium “Zeit”. Author Christoph Pfluger is committed to the referendum against the Covid-19 law and has been mentioned on several occasions by various outlets as a skeptic and depraved of Corona. How was it that you were the first to spread this death notice in such detail?
Another skeptic of the crown, Daniel Stricker, has received an email from a doctor handling the case. At the request of the Tagesanzeiger, he did not want to name the sender of the email, but emphasized that it was real. The general practitioner at the nursing home in question declined to comment on the newspaper.
As the doctor writes in the email, he has not yet examined the man’s corpse and has not yet informed the SwissMedic pharmaceutical authority. You sent this email to Stricker and other recipients first, for what reason is unclear. From then on, the news could no longer be stopped.
This is how Swissmedic reacted
Last night, Swissmedic finally commented on this incident in a press release:
The message about the death of a 91-year-old person in the canton of Lucerne after being vaccinated against Covid-19 is circulating on social networks and information platforms. Clarifications from the cantonal health authorities and Swissmedic have shown that due to the medical history and course of the disease, it is highly unlikely that there is a connection between death and Covid-19 vaccination.
Swissmedic also wrote in his message that the man had to various serious pre-existing conditions suffered. Christoph Pfluger describes this somewhat differently in his article: «According to information from the family doctor, the deceased was in good condition and not ill before the vaccination, given his old age. Also: in the case of a serious illness, vaccination would have been contraindicated. “
When consulted by Watson, Swissmedic confirmed that the Lucerne man had suffered from serious previous illnesses, but that they were not allowed to provide more detailed information due to patient protection.. However, they emphasize that death is most likely only temporally and not causally related to vaccination.
As a result, Watson asked Christoph Pfluger over the phone where the information he refers to in his article came from. Pfluger confirms that he also received this email from the GP in question and then spoke with him by phone.
According to the home doctor, the patient was fine before vaccination, depending on the circumstances, Pfluger says. Also, the term “prior illness” is very vague in his opinion. – especially in relation to the corona pandemic. So Pfluger didn’t answer the answer very specifically.
Ultimately, however, you wanted to draw attention to another issue with your article.as emphasized in the phone call. Pfluger claims that the vaccination team had the elderly man vaccinated without sufficient clarification and that the local team did not inform the local doctor about the vaccination campaign. He knew that the 91-year-old man had reacted negatively to flu shots in the past.
This fact was suppressed in the articles published later.
More on side effects and allergies:
The exact information on the cause of death of the patient is not available to the public. Swissmedic just writes:
According to Swissmedic, any intolerance to flu vaccination does not appear to have had any influence on the cause of death.
